The house

An independent publishing house devoted to contemporary literature, with a carefully focused list and sustained editorial work with every author.

IEditorial line

A direction rather than a programme

We do not publish genres; we publish texts. What holds our attention comes down to a few non-negotiable things: a voice recognisable from the first pages, a structure that knows where it is going, and language that is crafted without becoming ornamental. Whether a novel, a narrative or a freer form, the book must reward rereading.

Contemporary literature, as we understand it, is not a matter of topicality. It means books written today, attentive to the world in which they appear, yet not dependent on it for their existence.

IIIndependence

Independent, and new

Éditions 60MN belongs to no publishing group. Its decisions are made without imposed schedules or volume targets: each text is considered on its own terms.

The house is young and makes no secret of it. It has no backlist to showcase; what it does have is the freedom to choose without constraint and to give each book the time it requires.

IIIThe text

The text first

Everything begins with a careful, complete reading, without a predetermined framework. When a manuscript is selected, the work focuses on the text itself: structure, rhythm and precision of language, through to the final proofs.

For us, publishing begins with this discreet, patient work. It does not call attention to itself; it can be read in the finished book.

IVAuthors

With the authors

A book is made by two parties. We work with authors through open dialogue: our comments are proposals, and the final decision on the text remains theirs. Our commitment is to clarity — about schedules, contracts, what the house can do and what it cannot.

We would rather support an author across several books than publish a single isolated title. A catalogue is also built through loyalty.

VThe catalogue

Few titles, a coherent catalogue

We will publish only a small number of books each year. This is not a pose but a condition: the only way to read, work on and champion each one as it deserves.

Over time, we want the catalogue to read as a whole — different books, yet books that recognise one another.
